So, I was watching War of the Gods 1 and 2 last night...again. The "large ship" that crashed on the planet that was "the size of a battlestar," and Apollo didn't want Sheba to see what he and Starbuck found inside on their return visit. What was it? Size of a battlestar leads me to think Pegasus. What Sheba wasn't supposed to see? Cain's remains??? Count Iblis did state earlier in the episode that Sheba would see Cain again... Speculations?

I've read a lot of things about this, but my first impression was and it is still my belief that he totally fracked up Cain's ship. And it was either something inside that identified it as Pegasus, or her Father's body that Iblis didn't want Sheba to see. It was a glimpse into what you get walking down Iblis' path.
Okay, shivers & goosebumps now. ;D

Actually it was never ment to be the Pegasus. The ship was described as being the size of a battlestar. What it was, is the ship of Iblis followers. (ship of dark instead of ship of lights)
The Script describes what Starbuck and Apollo were supposed to see within that compartment. It was a leg with a Cloven Hoof. Basically the true form of Iblis and what his followers are proported to turn into (demons)
Iblis was holding Cain out in front of Sheba as a way to currupt her into following him. And it worked. perfectly.
Gotta remember, Larson always intended to bring back Cain and the Pegasus. Unfortunately, it seems the idea pitched to the execs for a streamlined Season 2, he was going to use the Pegasus as a vehicle to get rid of Sheba.

But given that the series ended the way it did, I prefer to see it the way I stated above. The way I saw it as a teen.

Never!!! lol After fighting the Base Stars, taking enormous damage, losing personnel, with supplies dwindling & hope receding- then Iblis appears, talks of his seeing Sheba again, gives them a food & fuel source, directions supposedly to Galactica's position... before Cain can take action against him (never having bought into all of it in the first place), all is lost... I can hover with that.

I'll be honest, I always thought it was the Pegasus as well. Otherwise why would Iblis not want Sheeba to look inside? He never actually admitted it was his ship.

It could go either way, but I remember when I first saw it I thought it just was another ship that he took over and it contained some clue as to his true nature, which he didn't want Sheba to see since that would cause her to reject him.

Back in '80 us teen folk bandied that about a bit & recognized it as a possibility, but we all took a "We'll find out for sure next season" attitude. Sadly.....no.
