Ok so I just downloaded a WYSIWYG html editor and am going to take another crack at some basic website design. (I have made a few simple sites in the past).
Right now I'm just going to experiment on a page about boots and how to recondition them for a BSG costume. Eventually I would like to see a homepage for the group. I am not, nor pretend to be a professional webdesigner, so anything I come up with will be pure html, no flashy Java, drop menus or fancy stuff. Very KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid, not the band). Will probably be very similar in appearance to the Rebel Legion's hompage.
So a few questions before hand. I just took a look at godaddy.com, seems blackstarsquadron.com is already registered. No site attached to it yet but I found out who owns it and it's expiration date (31 Aug 2012). Do you guys want to wait to see if it comes available or go for blackstarsquadron.org (which is available).
Please keep in mind I'm not making any promises, commitments or schedules with this. I'll be doing it in my free time, basically when I feel like it.
So any comments, questions or suggestions?

It is already available! I own it. I'd love to talk to you about some ideas for the page if you're into giving it a shot. We've been talking about this in the council for over a year. A main web page with reference material and resources much like Club Obi Wan or www.wegottafindearth.com. www.gbfans.com is another one.

Hey Live, great idea! And I guess it is meant to be, with monolith owning it, if you need any programs get a hold of me, I am sure I can get them for you. (No matter if they are PC or MAC that you might need)

Thanks scootr, but I just downloaded Amaya and PageBreeze, reviews seem to indicate they are the best of the free html editors. I'll let you know if I need something more.

I think a great reference site is www.indygear.com. I really love how they have the primary props, costumes, etc right on the front page with detailed text and screen shots, and possible (original) sources for each item. They are still revamping their main page, and additional info has to be gleaned from the forums, such as current options for acquiring various items. EDIT: Looks like they have updated/finished the "Vendors" section on the main page! I think Blackstar should have the possible vendors listed directly with each item in their separate sections.
