So Buck Rogers in the 25th Century... I've done the belt and arm boxes with all the details from the original kitbashed models, the ED belt buckle, pistols etc. I'm about two weeks from finishing the Starfighter pilot helmet; is there any interest in these? My first thought was doing them in solid fiberglass, but I'm also looking at vacformed halves.

I'm interested for sure! Money is a bit tight right now, but if this were a few weeks out I think it would be pretty cool.

Honestly I'm not seeing these as a big cost if I go the vacform route. The most expensive portion would be the ear pieces cast in resin and the "mowhawk". And I don't need a minimum commitment as I was going to finish it anyway, gotta have more dust magnets for my shelves. Now if I could find someone to sew a spandex suit...

Spandex is not my friend! but I do like the "Hawk" version of the laser. But I'd eventually like one of each lol I'm interested, but BSG and Star wars does come first. Wonder if we could find someone to do Colonial Helmets (both the daggit Squadon and the Original design) as cac formed pieces. Granted you trade detail for weight, but still a good costuming piece

The Colonial version was actually done that way by Marco Ent. years ago. Unfortunately the buck they used was way too small and they used rivets to hold it together, there are actually still a few floating around. I had one of Gordon's Daggit Sqd. helmets but I never got around to it so I sold it, really wish I would have kept it now.

I love that the BSG headsets actually double for use with the starfighter helmets. One less prop I have to buy!
I don't want to hijack the thread because I think the Buck helmet is awesome. If a vac formed viper helmet becomes an option we should start a thread. It might be a way to get a few more members into buckets!

Unfortunately the molds did not hold up so I won't be offering helmets, only arm/belt boxes, buckle emblems and lasers (Spring).

Thanks folks, not too bad to wear but not my first choice either. Most of the young folks had no clue what the costume was from, but I got the nod from the older attendees.

Well hey, what a better way to spark interest in the classics! Though I'm very surprised at how many of my younger co-workers have actually watched the original BSG.
They remade Flash Gorden, BSG, Star Trek... Why not Buck Rodgers? (Though technically the 80's show WAS a remake wasn't it?)

There is a Buck Rogers in production right now, it;'s being made for the net by the same people who produce Star Trek: Phase II. It's based on the retro Buck Rogers, not the modernized one from the 80's. I would love a reboot of the 1980's Buck, not done by Ron Moore (Although I feel this subject would lend itself more to the darkness he brought to his version of BSG) I'd like to see something done with it. Hopefully keeping most of the ships in tact lol, I do love the thunder fighters!!!
