Most of you have possibly heard me referring to the Battlestar Callisto and such and may be wondering what the frack is he talking about, there is no Battlestar Callisto!!?? Well, it's a long story. It goes back to my days discussing BSG on the old Sci-Fi Channel bboards. A bunch of us who were regulars there began an online chapter in Drew Michael's old "International Battlestar Fan Club." This was around 1998 or so... As part of that, we came up with the name of our unique battlestar (each local chapter came up with their own name). We called ours the Battlestar Callisto. We designed a unique triangular battlestar patch and once onboard, we further denoted our two squadrons as Gold and Black squadrons. A couple of years later, we came up with the idea to begin an online RPG and after a couple of website changes later, lo and behold, we are STILL at it 11 years later!!! Check us out by clicking on the link in my signature at the bottom of my posts. Here is a graphic we had done featuring a CGI Gold Squadron viper and our battlestar patch. By the way, if there is ever an opportunity to have this patch made or if any of you are willing to purchase a patch, let me know because I have always wanted to get this patch done... i17.photobucket.com/albums/b83/delachic/goldsquadronemblem.gif

Charybdis, The Patch looks very nice, as does the Gold Squadron Viper. Very nice.
I registered over at the Calisto some time ago, and actually have Ensign Edan listed among the Warriors of Black Squadron. I never did get into the RP though,. I had trouble finding the time to catch up on everything.
Ever think of getting a Viper Model and painting it up as a Gold Squadron Viper?

Cool looking patch! I've been researching patch makers for once we get the blackstar patch finished. I'll let ya know what I come up with.
Actually man, I'm pretty stoked to have you on board with this. Yours was the first Battlestar fan film I saw. The fan film site and your efforts really got me thinking about how cool it would be to have a bunch of people ready and willing to do similar projects. Part of the benefits of having an organized costuming group is access to and the ability to locate people with the costumes and enthusiasm locally.
One of the reasons we avoided breaking the club into "Battlestars" is that there are lots of other clubs out there that already do that. Though this club will eventually have an RPG to go with it, we can all grab our gear and help out whoever has a need for a few Colonial Warriors (or security...or Cylons...)
I definitely hope we'll be seeing more of your work!

You guys have been having fun ! I'll catch up with the rest of it in the next couple of days . I've been roleplaying for 30ish years , but I've never done it online. Tuesday nights for 4 hours , with a bottle of port is all I get these days We get a fair few patches made for the 501st , so it wouldn't be a stretch to get a patch going . If you can get exactly what you want the patch to look like , background , size and edging included , I can probably get it done .

I'm looking around for a vendor to do patches. I have worked with Moritz embroidery before. I was the one who did the very first KJO patch for the jedi of the RL. But their set-up fee is a bit price prohibitive unless you order 100 or more.
I"m looking at 50 or less but still keep it at an acceptable price...

Al, you might want check in with our Carolina Garrison CO about the patch run he just did for the garrison. The company he went with did a very nice job, and they weren't as cost prohibitive as Moritz.

Just for some fun reading, this is our Callisto RPG Prologue. It introduces our storyline about how the Callisto came about...
"PROLOGUE Cain, legendary Commander of the Battlestar Pegasus, sat at his desk, with his black Warrior’s boots propped up on the desk. The smoke from the fumarillo in his hand curled gently, wafting toward the exhaust duct. He read the report again. His ship, his crew, his dream had accomplished the impossible! The Cylon defense forces from the planet below (nicknamed “Treasure Trove” by the Pegasus’ crew) had been defeated in the surprise attack. Upon capture of the orbital spacedock, the automated systems had been set to bring specific materials to the huge facility. Operating around the clock for almost two sentars, enough raw materials had been delivered to the spacedock to build a new ship. Cain smiled, reflecting quietly to himself. Indeed, he would take the spacedock, and the ships he would build! The prototype plans for the first was already complete. With this dock, he would build a new fleet of improved Battlestars, with which he would destroy the Cylons once and for all. He gave the order, and the spacedock began to move out of orbit. In doing so, Commander Cain completed the greatest theft in Colonial history. Two yahrens later, on the bridge of the Pegasus, Cain was standing looking at the image of the accompanying shipyard. His new Battlestar, the first of what he was determined to be many, was ready to become operational in the automated spacedock. While there was still much work to be done to make it fully functional, including most of the finish work, in the hands of the right crew, he knew it would be able to fight. Due to the extremely short staff he had aboard the Pegasus, he staffed the new vessel with an extremely eager but none-the-less skeleton crew. The spacedock’s automated manufacturing equipment was currently busy turning out first class Vipers. Within a few more cycles, he would have full complements of Vipers for both the Pegasus and the new Battlestar; however, he knew he could wait no longer. The weak distress call from a group calling itself “Orion” could only be due to one cause: those fracking Cylons. Commander Cain made his decision. His new ship, the Battlestar Callisto, would be on its own until he could catch up with it again in the near future. The Pegasus departed, leaving the Callisto still traveling through space in the Cylon spacedock. Two systems later, the Callisto left the womb of the spacedock, ready to travel on its own. The unexpected arrival of a Cylon Base-Star and secondary Cylon ships caused Colonel Cambar, temporary commander of the Callisto, to send the spacedock on an uncalculated jump. Unmanned and on an unknown course, the dock was believed to have been destroyed. Before the Cylons detected the presence of the undermanned and untested Callisto, the new Battlestar escaped. Less than three yahrens later, the crew of the Callisto approached yet another new system in their so far futile search for Commander Cain and the Pegasus. This time, they found a Battlestar, but it was not the Pegasus. Instead, they had located the Galactica." * * *

Who did your bridge Uniform?
Looks like you stepped right off the Sound-stage in '78!

The bridge uni is a battlestargalactica.org suit...
I have also just received my new collar pins for the Callisto! I am going to change them out (didn't have them yet when I filmed this scene) for the next episode. I am using the JAG collar pins.
They only come in gold but I am thinking I may get an extra pair to paint them silver to go on my bridge uniform...

Unfortunately, the sales of the patch have sort of dried up and I wanted to see if anyone is interested in one, I am currently running the for sale thread over at the Callisto site.
However, since I wanted to do a run of only 35 patches and we have not sold near that amount, this is a call for anyone here at Blackstar squadron to order some if you want.
Let me know how many you want ( we had been doing a limit of 5) for $4.64 each patch. You can paypal to beanzorro at hotmail dot com
Shipping: 1 or 2 patches will be 50 cents. 3-5 patches $1.00. Deadline for ordering will be next Thursday...
