Hello out there to all my fellow Blackstar Squad members. I am Captain Chirri (don't ask, there's a Loooooong story to go with that name), and I have been a fan of original BG, ever since 1978.
I was completely gobsmacked when they brought it back the next year with all new people, and gave no explanation as to what happened to anyone else with the exception of Boomer.
No Cassie, Tigh, Athena, Apollo, Starbuck, Baltar or Lucifer.
Let's face it BG:1980 jumped the shark from the first episode. I'm surprised that it lasted as long as it did, when you consider all of the preemptions that it went through, not to mention being yanked all about the timeslots.
I wanted to get into the new one, I really did. But I took one look at it and went "What the FRAK is this load of *********?"
Needless to say, I never got into it, and hated the very idea of it.
Not even Richard Hatch's stint as Tom Zarek was enough to get me on board with it.
I hope to make a lot of friends here.

Matador and Captain Chiri Welcome to the Squadron. Matador, where is Long Beach in relation to San Diego? Monolith and Kronus are out that way. Great guys!!!
And I did give GINO a try too, I just have taste so it didn't sit well lol
As for G-1980, there are aspects I like, but not the show lol.
I'm looking forward to both of you finishing your Uniforms and joining the Members gallery!

Finish? What is this finish you speak of?
I do not have a pattern to work from, I am NOT ABOUT to go to Kathy Pillsbury for a single solitary thing except the buckles and the braid, and I am trying to save my money and decide where to get my uniform from.
If none of the places in the resources section can provide me with something in my size, especially since I have gone on a diet to lose a good thirty pounds over the coming year, then I am SOL, and will have to sew my own.
BTW, how can I get notifications of replies to threads in my email?

Hello everyone! My name is Andrew. I love costuming! I enjoy lots of different series like Star Wars, Batman, Matrix, LOTR, ect. I have a wholesale account this RUBIES, so I can pick up the nicer costumes that they make for cheaper and then I try to make them better. I love Battlestar Galactica! I didn't really think there were many others like me "wandering in space" For this Halloween I put together a Colonial warrior uniform and finished my gunbelt! Thank you for the leads like Wilco and Katara from Ebay! I'm still trying to find the best boots for the buck. I think I found the right place.

Greetings & salutations to you all. Jason`s the name, member of the UKCM (Alines fan costumed fan group). Been a fan of the original BSG since it first aired at the cinema`s, then T.V. Always wanted to get the kit But I`m in the UK & have NO idea if we have UK based providers of the costumes or do we need to buy International. If/When I got a helmet, have to say it`s GOT TO BE a BS Pegasus one Afraid I`m starting from scratch with kit/uniform so ANY/ALL advice I`m open too. Jason

WElcome to the party my friend, and fear not, there are already a few UK Members with full kits. Clanger among them.
Send an email to Battlestargalactica.org and see what internation shipping would cost you. Right now, I'd call that the best and most reliable commercially available kit out there.
But feel free to look over everything here and ask anything you want.

Greetings, My name is Jeff, and yes I'm a frakking toaster.. I marched in my Cylon with the BSG group at this past years DC parade, and was also at the BSG party on Saturday night at the Sheraton.. I am also part of the 501st Legion (SW costuming group for the bad guys) where I do a ROTJ Vader, Darth Nihilus, & a EPIII 501st Clonetrooper. I am looking at one day doing an OS Colonial Warrior costume, so any help in that area would be appreciated. By Your Command!

A big 'Hi' to all the recently joined members. The ranks certainly seem to be swelling over here. ;D Technoviking: Great to see you over here buddy. You can help me get the rest of the UK Viper jocks signed up, you know they can't refuse one of your teckno hugs! In-Cylon: Jeff, I think Karyn and I bumped into you at the Dragoncon Fleet ball (pic below), it's great to see you here as well. Your one toaster I wouldn't risk annoying! Cheers, Andy
