youtu.be/yORjKH85vlcAs you all know, Anthony DeLongis played the youngest Borellian Nomen, Taba in "The Man With Nine Lives". He offers training in whip techniques at his ranch and I really want to get out there one day to take the course! I wonder if he'll show off laser bolo techniques?

Funny, as you all know, my Arcta Flight was originally christened 'Nomen Flight'.., but with my love of all things 'Tundra', I pushed for the change.

If I ever did a non-colonial costume.....it would be this one....it is one of my favorites.

If it weren't for the caveman appliances I'd have to put on my face, I'd almost be for doing a Borellian Nomen.

I don't think the appliances would be that hard to do

They looked like they had the caveman forehead and thick eyebrows. Probably not difficult to pull off, but definitely a PITA, I think.

I spoke with a few appliance makers this weekend at "Scare LA" and we might be in luck! They said that the brows would be super easy to make and that the rest is pretty simple makeup. The uniform is the real trick. I know someone with an original laser bolo baldric. We might be able to get a pattern going off that!

On a related note...everyone pick a Nomen name. 3,2,1...go!

I'd have to go back and watch the episodes the Nomen are in, but based on my (right now) limited recollection, I don't think it will be too difficult to make the laser bolo baldric. I am a leather worker, ya know.
With that said, get me a pattern and let me see what I can come up with! :-)
Seems to me that Nomen names are typically four letter words (not those kind of words you sickos!) that end with an "A". Examples: Maga, Bora and Taba.
Soooo...... I'll choose Alfa! :-p

An interesting observation: I don't remember seeing any female Nomen on the show, they were mentioned but never seen (correct me if I'm wrong). Now that I'm heavy into costuming, a Nomen is now on my to-do list, although I'm not very enthused about wearing the brows. A Nomen photoshoot would be fun, if we can get enough people on board. And my Nomen name: Zora.

It was an easy observation. I don't know it was supposed to be that way, but it seemed to fit. Kind of like how most Vulcan males have 5-letter names, as I recall: Spock, Sarek, Tuvok, etc.

The Noman of Borella, a moon of Canceron, whom I most strongly resembled was named Gola. I emphasize the "was." For unlike me, Gola died in the Cylon "Final Annihilation" attack.
