Blackstar Squadron recognizes an annual democratic practice in the election of leadership roles within its organization. Only voting members are eligible to participate.
Yes/no questions are determined by a simple majority. All other issues are determined by plurality.
Notice of upcoming elections or issues subject to voting will be posted on the forums.
In the case of High Council elections:
All nominations and voting must be submitted on Blackstar Squadron forum
Nominations will occur September 1st through September 15th
Each voting member may self-nominate themselves for any position, including serving an additional term, and will be considered a qualified candidate when seconded by another voting member
A list of qualified candidates will be available for voting September 21st through September 30th, after which no more votes will be accepted
If no nominations are made for a position, the incumbent will remain in said capacity, if desired
Each voting member may cast one vote for each position
For positions left unfilled, offers will be made to non-winning candidates in order of the highest number of votes cast
The High Council must poll for a "Motion of No Confidence" in the Strike Captain at the request of one-third of the voting membership. If passed, the Strike Captain is relieved of duty with the Executive Officer taking over Strike Captain duties until the next election. A "Motion of No Confidence" is limited to once per service period.
