Article XI: Election and Voting Blackstar Squadron recognizes an annual democratic practice in the election of leadership roles within its organization. Only voting members are eligible to participate.Yes/no questions are determined by a simple majority. All other issues are determined by plurality.Notice of upcoming elections or issues subject to voting will be posted on the forums.In the case of High Council elections:
- All nominations and voting must be submitted on Blackstar Squadron forum
- Nominations will occur September 1st through September 15th
- Each voting member may self-nominate themselves for any position, including serving an additional term, and will be considered a qualified candidate when seconded by another voting member
- A list of qualified candidates will be available for voting September 21st through September 30th, after which no more votes will be accepted
- If no nominations are made for a position, the incumbent will remain in said capacity, if desired
- Each voting member may cast one vote for each position
- For positions left unfilled, offers will be made to non-winning candidates in order of the highest number of votes cast
The High Council must poll for a "Motion of No Confidence" in the Strike Captain at the request of one-third of the voting membership. If passed, the Strike Captain is relieved of duty with the Executive Officer taking over Strike Captain duties until the next election. A "Motion of No Confidence" is limited to once per service period.
