Whoops, thought I'd replied to this, but I guess I didn't. Thanks, everyone! I'm enjoying reading through everything.

Hello everyone, my name is Silvia (pinkpanther) and I am from Munich Germany. I'm in love with the show since I saw the first Battlestar movie in the cinema in 1978. In Germany they took some of the episodes and made three movies called 'Kampfstern Galactica, Mission Galactica and Galactica 3' out of it.
2 years ago I decided to join the cosplay fandom again and bought some BSG costume parts (EFX helmet, jacket, pants, blaster..). But I would like to sew the tunic by myself, and am now looking for information like cut patterns, material, color...
I don't know much about sewing, but I'm willing to take on the challenge. ;-)

I should probably re-introduce myself. I took a heck of hiatus to work on a Master's Degree and had the materials to make the standard brown warrior costume as well as the white "ship of lights" version sitting in my basement for the past couple years. Now I really want to get back on this and get these costumes done! The only thing I'm missing is the checkered ribbon stuff that goes along the collar and cuffs. Once I get that stuff, I'll be good to go!

Welcome Aboard Thoth.., lots of great folks here. It may be a tad quiet at times, but feel free to look at all the great discussions on uniforms and custom equipment.

Hi everyone!
I have been a huge fan of the original Battlestar Galactica series since I was a kid - maybe even more now then back then if that's possible. 😀
The information that I've been able to find so far on the forum to help me finish my Warrior uniform has been amazing! Thanks!!

Hello all!
Warm greetings from Mexico. My name is Jorge and I'm an avid BSG fan and member of the 501st Legion, Mandalorian Mercs and The Dark Empire costuming clubs. I'm hoping to learn a lot from you and eventually have my own Colonial Warrior costume.
Cheers!

Greetings, been an Original Balltestar Galactica fan since it aired in 1978. Gods that makes me feel old. Have kind of fallen out of going to conventions and costuming, but still would love to put together a Colonial Viper Pilot uniform... or even just have the jacket, Hel, I'd were that on a regular basis. Anyway, found this site last night and decided to make a profile, recently bought an OBSG Galactica patch, and sewed that onto my od jacket to go along with my Mandalorian patch, which I often wear with my baseball cap that has a Firefly Browncoats patch, yes I get odd looks on occasion.
Not sure if I will stick with the name "Maga", as it's a carry over from the Colonial Fleets site, it's mostly the present political climate here in the US that has me leery of using it. This site wouldn't let me use the name I wanted to, "Varaad Ur", not sure why.
At any rate, any site that honors the Original Battlestar Galactica is tops in my book!
Hail and Skal

Maga, GREAT to have you with us..!! Funny with your callsign of Maga, I originally was going to name my flight 'Nomen Flight', and come up with a nice history behind it, but seeing I reside in 'the Tundra' of Wisconsin, I figure Arcta was a more apt name, plus I just love the 'Ice Planet Zero' story. Not sure why the site wouldn't let you use your other idea for a callsign. Perhaps Bishop could answer that. This is an awesome site just for seeing pages and pages of great customizing ideas and progress notes from customs years back. Depending on your geographical location, would love to have you join me on Arcta Flight, but you'll have to check the regions to verify (I can assist with that if you need help..). Right now the best place for uniforms has been and continues to be www.battlestargalactica.org. Nice selection and they've recently redone their flight jackets to be quite accurate. Personally I get mine through Magnoli for a tailored fit, but the site I referenced is also great for jackets and tans, as well as the bridge blue uniforms. I'm getting an arctic coat made next week by a local upholstery shop here in Milwaukee, since while battlestargalactica.org lists them, they don't have the materials or workers to actually make 'em. I'll be sure to show off the finished product when it's done. Our other site now has been www.blackstarsquadron.weebly.com for more graphics, geographical charts, pics of members and such. Please check that out as well. I know my Arcta Flight is listed there with our charter, etc.. Enjoy and welcome aboard. COL Bolter, Membership Officer and Arcta Flight Leader (yes a real US Army Colonel, not just a callsign rank..).

Or do an underscore '_', to preserve your original naming preference.
Thanks Bishop..!!

Hello! My name's Dunkin / Allison and I recently got into the classic Battlestar Galactica series. I already do a bit of cosplaying as a hobby, and a Colonial Warrior uniform is on my to-do list. I read on another forum that somebody posted sewing patterns here, which would be wonderful to have on hand in the future. I look forward to learning and connecting with this fan community! (And yes, my username references a rival coffee brand to Starbuck's. )

Can the Sires and the Siresses impose a ban on the usage of "PhotoBucket" for displaying any likenesses till they have cause to issue contrary notice? I was unable to see some of the likenesses shown in these messages on the grounds of "PhotoBucket" not authorizing such access.

I offer a most humble apology to Sire Bishop, and I go on to reassure him that I will welcome whatever measures he can take to solve that particular problem. My prayers, Sire...go with you...and with all those who serve alongside you.

I was unable to see some of the likenesses shown in these messages on the grounds of "PhotoBucket" not authorizing such access. Banning will not be approved as some Photobucket users may have a paid account and their images will display. There is a workaround to the Photobucket issue that would allow the images to be viewed but it requires a manual edit for every link. Time consuming. But I’ll try to make fixes as time allows. Thanks so much for all your diligence, Bishop.
