Just like the show, we in Blackstar try to convey a sense of family in this environment. Like what has already been mentioned, don't be afraid to ask for help. We're all here to offer what assistance we can.
As already mentioned, Apollo2 has makes uniforms. Lightning made her uniform and it is amazing. I'm sure she could be sweet-talked into a commission, as well. I do leather working and can easily make the ceremony uniform belts in my sleep (since they aren't so different from Imperial Officers uniform belts from Star Wars).

Hi thought I should introduce myself, my name is Jim.C, from Calgary Alberta, have been BSG original series since I watched it when it first came out...yup I'm old. I'm Hazmat/ CBRNE ( counter terrorism) Paramedic in Calgary, and am the Team Lead for my group. married no kids ( lots of Furbabies. I've been following Blackstar Squadron for a bit now, and finally asked to join. As for my uniform, just about complete, some minor stuck to do on jacket ( buckles) my Beiges look great, and awaiting the arrival of my lazer pistol. Have the holster and belt, it's black but I've ordered a white one and will give dying a try. Found a great pair of Sidi Full Bores on EBay, so have to restore them, they're the one with the old style buckles so may try to put the clasp style on them. Anyway...thanks so much for letting me join..and I'll upload a photo when everything is done. Again thanks " Oviner " Razor

Cylon Killer here. Finally putting my BSG original costume together. Watched the show when it originally came on TV in the 70's along with Space 1999. Been a historical re-enactor for 10 + years, with high authenticity standards. Started doing convention costuming (cosplay) for 3-5 years. Strongly considering the BSG.org set of tans. Hope to have this put together by Megacon in Fl 2016.

Warrior First Level Razor, since your cover duties here on Earth involve rescues from life-and-death crises, which often requires you to work with hazardous materials, how well versed are you in the chemical properties of boraton? We use that fire-suppression chemical for according fire-damage control whenever our fire-suppression force fields are inoperative, as they were that one unfortunate time.
Also, since by your own statement you deal against outlaw activities on a regular basis, have you ever had to cope with acts of piracy, smuggling, bootlegging, or the like? Those were MAJOR problems for the Colonial Merchant Marine, of which Baltar was once Commander. And I have guessed that they inflicted severe enough financial losses on Baltar, from which Commander Adama unwisely allowed him NO recovery, for him to commit his treason against our people.

Welcome aboard, Warrior First Level CylonKiller!
If you DO attempt to duplicate Colonial Warrior tans-and-browns, then why not be sure to attempt to duplicate Core Command bridge officer blues as well? I have done so at least once, and plan to do so again.
Core Command bridge officer blues are somewhat trickier to get right than Colonial Warrior tans-and-browns are, major problem being the difficulty involving obtaining the silver-and-black checkered trim adorning them! But they are easier to duplicate on these fronts. 1. You need not worry about the buckles on the jacket; the Earth firm that manufactured those has apparently not stayed in business, and the tri-dimensionally printed analogs are less effective. 2. The black boots are not as difficult to obtain; I have steered others to the Pleaser Funtasma Maverick style, Model 2045, to that end--they are as easy to obtain in brown should you continue to pursue that option. 3. They need fewer additional adornments than Colonial Warrior tans-and-browns do.
In toto, let alone in case you decided to attempt to duplicate the dress uniform(my own tutorial on the dress cape is not yet finished at the time of my posting this message, for one problem you may encounter with that), Core Command bridge officer blues are, finally, less expensive in terms of cubits.

Greetings, MetricSled checking in. I've been a fan of BSG since '78. Having been a closet CosPlayer for many years (just on Halloween) and owning many different uniforms and costumes Star Trek and Terminator (and a current build of Sully from Monsters INC) I jumped in when I was able to purchase a pair or Sidi Motocross boots on Ebay. I have a Viper Pilot Uniform that is a work in progress. I'm targeting AwesomeCon in DC this June to be it's debut. Last year IMHO the most unique CosPlayers I saw were the Wonder Twins (Superfriends) and M'Ress (Star Trek: The Animated Series). I'd Like to be one of the unique CosPlayers this year, but it would be nice to have a few Warriors there too.
