WELCOME Ken!! WOW!! How awesome that your career went full circle! It's a rare chance not many get in life. Thanks for the warm welcome. Yes... it has been an amazing ride thus far. This year alone i had a ton of features and shows released that i worked on. Deadpool 2 being the iconic film this year. Had the pleasure of building Ryan’s new swords, his guns, and built Brolin’s big rifle. Did some stuff for Domino’s pistols as well. Im really looking forward to reading up on what you guys have put down in all these threads. Currently, im tracking down a hero Colonial laser. Hopefully, God willing, that comes through. Definitely will share pics of that with all of you. Anyway, thanks again guys for the welcome. Ken

Hi All!
My name is Christina and I have always loved Battlestar Galactica! I never missed an episode! I am very excited to get a uniform put together. I've already been on the forum and read up on what I needed, so I just received my Sidi boots today (and they are really comfortable). My base uniform is on the way and I'll be 3D printing and casting new buckles in resin and 3D printing a blaster. Excited to share my progress!

Hello Colonials!!!
My name is Dean and I have been BSG Fan since the original aired... Yes, I am that old! LOL I can remember building the models of the Viper and Cylon Raider and hanging them from the ceiling in my bedroom as a kid. I have always been a Sci Fi fan, and even now at 53, still love costuming and cosplay! I am also an avid fan of Ghostbusters, Star Wars, Star Trek, Doctor Who, and pretty much anything else Sci Fi.
I am looking forward to getting started on a Warrior's uniform. I just completed a 3D print of a blaster and will be posting pics of it soon. I am currently working on some Arduino based electronics for it.
I look forward to getting to know everyone!

I am interested in your tri-dimensional printing of one of our laser pistols, and that you are also devoting time to building its internal components. In case you offer those for haggling, how many cubits will they cost? And it is always good to welcome a Colonial into the team defending the fleet, and at that one who has obtained the open line to Galactica recruitment. We need--YOU, and now more than ever.

Thanks for the warm welcome! As I figure out the laser pistol 3D print for this, I will let you know how it progresses. I finished a first print for the pistol and I think it turned out pretty well. I printed the muzzle in black as a start, but I see now that I am going to reprint it in clear PLA. I have a feeling it will give a nice frosted look it needs and let the light shine through from the muzzle flash. I am working on adapting an Arduino Nano set up with a 1 watt LED in the muzzle. It may be a slow process with the holidays already upon us.

Hi Everyone,
My interest in BSG TOS has been slowly rekindled since last year's big anniversary. I watched it on its first run, and saw the movie in the theater in Canada way back in the day. I've always wanted a warrior jacket, and now that I'm slowly learning how to sew, I'm getting motivated to give it a try. I'm curious whether there are any patterns that are downloadable to help in this effort? I hope to enjoy spending time here.
Thanks!

Hello. Allow myself to introduce.......myself? I'm Jason and I live near Seattle WA. As a young lad I loved BSG. I also like Star Wars a lot but because my brother and I had such a hard time sharing, Star Wars was his thing and Battlestar was mine. As an adult I love them both (and others) but I still feel a deeper connection with Battlestar. I have a full cylon costume and have built a couple other cylon helmets. With my daughter Serina (yes named after Jane Seymours character) I have built two full size Astomech droids and we discovered Comicons. After 4 years attending Seattle comicon (ECCC) I have seen one colonial warrior and no cylons. I was really taken with the colonial warrior, we talked for a while. His uniform was top notch and it has really stuck in my mind, and that is why I am here. I have to admit, I don't feel very comfortable in any costume (too fat, too old etc) but I really like the idea and when I see another old fat guy in a costume I really admire them for it.

Hi everyone, I’m Shane. Like most of you I grew up watching Battlestar, starting from the age of 10. I was a HUGE Star Wars fan, which likely helped my initial love of the series. I was incredibly disappointed that it only lasted one season, and found Galactica 1980 to be fun, but not the same. I was introduced to this club many yahrens ago at a SD Comic Con Booth, but never had the time or funds to make a costume (much as I wanted to).
Unlike many of you, my introduction to Battlestar Galactica was through the complete series DVD Box set. My mother was a fan when it was originally on television, and she knew I would love the series. I saw the booth for the club as a kid at Comic Con; I also had the immense pleasure of meeting both Herbert Jefferson Jr. and Richard Hatch around that age, who got an immense kick out of seeing a 90s kid super excited to meet them. You could tell when we walked up that they expected my mom to be the huge fan, not both of us!
I’m a college student now at UCSD, and I’ve lurked on this forum for quite a long time. I’ve been putting off making a uniform for years due to time and money, but the more I check back in and read through this forum the more I realize that if I wait too long the parts to make the uniform simply won’t be available anymore. Already several components have been discontinued and are exceptionally hard to find.
Because I’m a broke college student I’ll be making the uniform myself (any help in finding patterns and fabrics would be awesome, I’m not great at navigating forums), and I plan on starting with the boots and smaller, harder to find details (definitely gonna snag some checkerboard trim before the very last becomes unavailable). I don’t know what direction I want to go with the boots as those seem to be one of the biggest challenges to find. I know I’m going to want at some point both a regular and ship of light battlesuit, so I have to look at available materials to see which is more feasible at the moment.
It’ll be a long journey to finishing this, but I look forward to working on it with you guys and maybe someday trooping!

Hello fellow Colonials, I recently joined the board as I was searching from prop and costume information. I've known about Blackstar for a while now and am glad to finally connect. Like most of you I've been a fan since I was a kid. While Star Wars made a big impact on me and my love of sci fi, it was Galactica that really connected with me. Having Sunday nights then later Saturday afternoons devoted to catching one-hour of these adventures I grew more fond of the characters, ships, and stories than even Star Wars. Still that way today. There is a part of me slightly relieved the original series never saw the reboot or larger fanbase we all waited for. It kept the family small and special. Who knows what it may have morphed into if picked up again later. The original cast really felt like a family. Plus my father was in the military at the time so the military connection made sense to me. Over the years I contributed to some fanzines back in the 90's. I have various pieces of a uniform that never got completed. My goal is to assemble a uniform for display and one for myself. Though I will need to spend extra time in the colonial exercise facility to work off the the extra mushies from over the yahrens. It is good to see there are still people making costumes. I look forward to meeting more in the group and discovering new information about BSG costuming. Lance a.k.a. "Lancer"

Lancer, Welcome Aboard, a great team of enthusiasts here to help with any/all questions. Boy do we have the links to great items.., I will mention that Bionic Moon Labs (ran by our illustrious Don Bishop here..), is THE BEST for authentic, working equipment. Check him out here or on FB. Amongst other warriors here, I head the Arcta Flight for the mid-west coverage, we have our own patches made and I've actually sport a cool-looking Arctic suit, much like worn on the historic 'Ice Planet Zero' mission, just check-out our pages under uniforms. Best Wishes and again, Welcome Aboard. COL Bolter, Arcta Flight Leader (COL USAR, retired)
