How does Blackstar Squadron fit into the Original Series?

Hello all,
I ment to write the in universe Story explaining how Blackstar Squadron fits into the BSG storyline. But I got caught up with getting ready to move my girlfriend into my apartment. SO, what I'll do now is simply explain what the High council agreed on. This will direct the discussion for a squadron logo and pins.
It has been established in Canon that Each Battlestar Carried 2 Squadrons. From the beginning Galactica had Blue and Red Squadron. It's hinted that Starbuck and Boomer were in Red Squadron throughout the Pilot. With Apollo being overall Commander of both Squadrons, or the Entire fighter "wing" aboard the Ship.
Now, In Living Legend, we only hear about 1 Squadron. Silver Spar. Yet we know Pegasus has a full load of Warriors, or more since they took survivors from the rest of the Fifth Fleet.
In the Novelization of Living Legend, which I just finished, IT states that both the Galactica and Pegasus had 4 Squadrons Each aboard. This contridicts The TV Show, but can be used to support the presence of a second Squadron aboard Pegasus.
What the show and the novel agree on is that When Cain orders the evacuation of all non essential Personnel from Pegasus, All Vipers, Galactica and Pegasus launch in escort. Meaning when Cain attacks the Baseships, she is carrying no vipers (or very few with no warriors to fly them) So Every Pegasus Viper pilot ends up on the Galactica.
In War Of the Gods, WE find Captain Bojay in command of a Group of pilots from Silver Spar Squadron. We know it's Silver Spar Squadron, cause Dialog in the show says so. So we know the Squadron or, in our case now, Squadrons remained intact while serving on the Galactica. What we do see is Everyone adopting the use of the Galactica Patch, Insignia Pins and Helmet Crests. And the mixing of Personnel in the Squadrons since Brie and Jolly are with Bojay on that patrol. (and Sheba becomes Boomers Wingman)
So, we have established that Blackstar Squadron IS that other Squadron from the Pegasus. We have been with the Pegasus since the Fifth Fleet left for Molecay. We survived the Ambush/Battle there with Command Cain, and when Evacuated, we escorted the shuttles to the Fleet during the Battle of Gomoray.
After that, we became the 4th operational Squadron aboard Galactica. Warriors transfered among the Squadrons, but the heart of the Squadron, just like Silver Spar, remained Loyal to Cain.
I have picked an Extra from Living Legend to serve as Squadron Commander From Gomoray till the events of Hand of God. This Extra was seen in 3 differnt scenes. 2 of them in Pegasus insignia (poor costume continuity in the show lol) But he was never seen in a cockpit shot during battle and never referred to as being a member of Silver Spar. This Extra, who I have named Lt Nero, will die during the battle against the basestar, and that's where we pick up.
Setting ourselves so firmly in Canon, but just out of sight of the camera legitimizes us. As was pointed out, we now have all the resources of the fleet (in universe) and makes our concentration on Canon costuming consistant with our Squadron identity.
I'll be opening a new thread in tyhe pins and patches section to talk about what direction we shojuld go in, and the ideas the council came up with in a chat on Sat night.
